Among all the movies, anime or otherwise, that I own, Arcadia of my Youth is one of my favorite. It is excellent!!

Arcadia of my Youth charts the story of Captain Phantom F. Harlock, his friends and associates, and a ship [be it a space ship or a WW II fighter] called Arcadia of my Youth. The story speaks of their struggles against an Empire that has conquered Earth and what it means to be free.

There is a lot that one could say about this movie, but I think I would probably do an inadequate job. In my opinion, this is a must see piece of anime.

Captain Harlock and Queen Emeraldas makes a short appearance in Galaxy Express 999, adieu Galaxy Express 999 and a very very brief appearance in Otaku No Video.
