Record of Lodoss War is pure fantasy based on a role playing
game and set of stories.
All the expected, typical character types are present. There are:
- Parn - young human fighter
- Deedlit - young, relativity speaking, magic using high elf
- Ghim - older Dwarf warrior
- Etoh - young human priest
- Slayn - a human wizard probably in his late 20s or early 30s
- Woodchuck - a human thief
Those who play role playing games will note that the above is
Standard Adventure Party -- 1. The story line is also as
expected.
Lodoss means "The accursed land". This would be an apt description
and again the future of this land hangs in the balance and Parn and
his new friends are caught up in it all.
In addition to the good guys there are a variety of nasties, including,
but not limited to:
- Orcs
- Goblins
- Trolls
- Dragons of various colors
- Evil humans of various types
- Dark elves
- a undead lich queen
Record of Lodoss War is one of my favorite series. The
animation is fairly good with a reasonable story line. Those who
enjoy "high" fantasy should like Record of Lodoss War.
