Galaxy Police Mihoshi's Space Adventure

It is a typical day at the Masaki residence. That is, Tenchi is growing lots of carrots for Ryo-ohki and there are five lovely young, or young looking, ladies living in the same house.

Slightly out of the blue, Mihoshi starts to tell a story about one of her previous cases that she calls "the case of the ultra-energy matter robber".

In typical Mihoshi style, however, she replaces the original players in the case with the other persons of the Masaki household. Her claim is that this will help everyone to understand the story. The mapping goes something like this:

• Ryoko - she is cast as the space pirate who is stealing the ultra-energy stuff.
• Tenchi - he is cast as Inspector Tenchi from Galaxy Police HQ. Tenchi catches Ryoko red handed, but is kidnapped by Ryoko. Twice.
• Mihoshi - plays herself
• Kiyone - this is Mihoshi's partner and this appears the be the first time she appears in the animation series. She does not have a huge role in this piece of anime, but has a much larger one in the Tenchi T.V. series.
• Ayeka - she is cast as the heiress of the Jurai Plutocrate. She is also the self appointed fiancee of Inspector Tenchi.
• Sasami - she is cast as a waitress at the Galaxy Police HQ, but she is actually an apprentice detective. Later, she takes on her Pretty Sammy guise and helps to save the day. However, Pretty Sammy appears to also have a slight twist as she is cast as a magician.
• Ryo-ohki - she plays herself, in both the normal Tenchi universe and in the Pretty Sammy universe.
• Washu - she plays Doctor Washu and is the actual power behind the robberies.

Doctor Washu has created a huge weapon that can destroy everything, meanwhile, Ryoko has gone after Tenchi, while Ayeka, Mihoshi and Kiyone have been captured by Doctor Washu.

In the end, Kiyone sacrifices herself and with the intervention of Pretty Sammy, the day is saved.

Mihoshi's Space Adventure is told in typical Mihoshi style and a fun piece of anime. In some respects, I thought that it felt more like the Tenchi Muyo T.V. series then with the OAV series.
